I have been working out for a number of years in various gyms. The Fitness Prescription is by far the best.  The atmosphere is relaxing yet serious, and the equipment available is great.  You're taught to use free weights and your natural body movements to burn calories, drop extra weight and tone muscles efficiently and effectively.   They have the cardio machines that you are familiar with.  The staff consists of certified personal trainers, and each of them has additional specialty certifications.  They have a Physical Therapist, who does a fabulous Fitness Assessment, to design an exercise program that will be appropriate for you. You know that if you're doing an exercise wrong you will be corrected in a constructive and helpful way, unlike the other gyms where you are left on your own to risk injury.
