My name is Meryl Lemeshow.

I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, registered nurse, certified personal trainer, certified cancer exercise specialist, inventor, entrepreneur, and a breast cancer survivor.

Meryl’s Breast Rest is the product of my experience as a nurse, positioning patients for surgery, and my own personal journey as a breast cancer survivor having made the choice to have bilateral mastectomies with reconstruction. Through my years as an operating room nurse I knew there was no specific device designed to provide support, comfort, protection, and proper body alignment for patients requiring placement in the prone position [on their stomachs]. The breasts are susceptible to excess pressure resulting from a lack of support of the tissues, which produces unnecessary soreness and potential tissue compromise.

I knew from my own experience with reconstruction that a special pillow was needed to provide ME with comfort, support, and protection when I needed to lie on my stomach for surgery, x-rays, physical therapy, a visit to a chiropractor, having a massage, or being in a health club and wanting to experience an exercise that necessitated me being placed on my stomach.

Well…there is such a pillow now.
