Yoga is an ancient practice from India which leads to physical, mental and spiritual development.

At the Physical Level, the postures build strength, flexibility and balance.  The postures include all movements which the body can do;  forward and backward bends, side bends, twists, standing and lying down postures as well as inversions.  Experiencing the full range of poses and counter poses brings the body into a deeper state of wholeness.

There is an important meditative component to yoga, which helps to quiet the Mind.  By using the breath as a focus and repeatedly bringing the awareness back to the breath, the practitioner begins to experience the space between the thoughts.  The mind becomes quiet and the we begin to shift from identification with our thoughts and ego, to our identification with spirit.

Yoga further enhances Spiritual development through the added use of intention.  By directing awareness  to the Heart Center, center of consciousness within, we can develop a deeper sense of connectedness, harmony and stillness.  We shift into experiential Remembrance of our  Eternal Nature.

In Yoga we Open the Breath, Open the Body, Open the Mind and come to Rest in Spirit.
